
PROF. ABEL KINOTI
Professor Abel Kinoti, is a Fellow of United Kingdom, Higher Education Academy (UKHEA), and holds a Doctorate Degree in Commerce (Business Management) from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU), Republic of South Africa, in addition to Master of Business Administration (Marketing) and Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree programmes from Vikram and Bhopal University, India respectively. He also holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice, from York St. John University-UK and International Faculty Programme Certificate, from IESE Business School, University of Navarra-Barcelona- Spain, besides, extensive training in case writing and the use of case teaching methods. He has also been involved in study tours of African and European Business Schools.
He is a member of Academy of International Business (AIB)-Middle East North Africa Chapter, European Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ECSB), Universities, Business and Research in Agricultural Innovation (UniBrain), African Incubation Network (AIN) a World Bank (INFODEV) Initiative and fellow of the Marketing Society of Kenya. He has over eighteen years of teaching, research and administrative experience from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, Nairobi, Kenya where he served as a senior lecturer (marketing, entrepreneurship and strategic management), Head of Department, Coordinator, Associate Dean and the Director of a programme he founded and successfully directed. He has extensive research and training experience spanning over fifteen years as a Senior Consultant for local and international bodies. He has been actively involved in external examining, curriculum development and evaluation for various universities, industry university linkages and mentoring students.
He was Keynote Speaker, at the 8th African Resource Bank Conference and he has presented several research papers at local and international conferences. He has supervised many undergraduate and graduate dissertations. He is the author of a textbook on ‘Business Incubation and Business Development in Kenya’ and over five articles published in local and international peer reviewed journals. His main interests are in innovation and business incubation, marketing and the development and use of case studies, curriculum development and application of innovative pedagogy in teaching and life-long learning.
