Ms. Rehema Mugendi – Kiarie

Ms. Rehema Mugendi – Kiarie is a seasoned lecturer in the fields of Marketing, Management, Digital Marketing and Sales with a passion for creating sales business strategies and marketing tools. Rehema is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Business Administration (Marketing option) at the University of Nairobi. She also holds a Master of Business Administration degree (Marketing Option) from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication and Public Relations Studies from Daystar University. Rehema has served in different capacities in the corporate world with a blend of experience in both Marketing and Communication.
At Riara University, Rehema serves as a Lecturer and Examination Coordinator in the School of Business. She is also the faculty in charge of Industrial Attachment at the School of Business. She is also a Champion of the blended learning, a program for the faculty meant to enhance the 21 st Century classroom. Notably, she has also been trained on data protection practices and holds certifications in data protection.
Rehema is an accomplished researcher and writer and some of the notable writings that she has co- authored include; Ethics in Mobile Banking: A Case Study of Kenya Mobile Money Platforms and the Impact of Mobile Payment Applications and Transfers on Business; Technology and Social Media in Customer Service Management in Africa; A Strategic and Operational Perspective (co-author); Ethical Marketing Concepts in the book titled “Product for Conscious Consumers: Developing Marketing and Selling Ethical Products” and most recently she has authored a chapter on Humanistic Management of Location Based Gig work in the book titled “The Ethics of Fairness and Care” among others.
Rehema is also an Industry Trainer and Facilitator with various organizations and is passionate about digital marketing, social media and viral marketing strategies. She has also offered coaching and mentorship for Entrepreneurs in the field of marketing. With her footprint beyond the Republic of Kenya, Rehema has provided advisory and training services for the Association of African Start-ups (Nigeria) and is also one of the faculty mentors with Arielle for Africa. She was also a delegate in the Road and Belt Conference that was held in Shanghai, China in the year 2018. Most recently, she was a researcher, a mentor and among the selected Academic Staff for staff development and capacity building to represent the University AESU project which was a collaboration between Open University and Riara University on Accelerating Entrepreneurship Support in Universities (AESU) in Kenya funded by the British Council. Rehema is also involved in Curriculum Development at the School of Business.
