The Riara University will hold its next Law Review Action Public Lecture on\u00a0Tuesday, 29 January 2013\u00a0 from 2.30 p.m to 5.30 p.m.<\/p>\n

Justice Majanja is a member of the Judiciary Working Committee on Election Preparedness and is involved\u00a0in the drafting of the Supreme Court (Presidential Election Petition) Rules 2013 and the Elections\u00a0(Parliamentary and County Elections) Petition Rules. He is also involved in the drafting of Regulations\u00a0under Article 22 of the Constitution on the procedure for filing Constitutional applications.<\/p>\n

Justice Majanja holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Nairobi and a Master of Laws\u00a0(LLM) degree in International Trade and Investment Law in Africa from the University of Pretoria, South\u00a0Africa. Upon admission to the bar in 1998, Justice Majanja built a distinguished career in civil, commercial\u00a0and public interest litigation. In 2010, he was elected to the Advocates Disciplinary Committee established\u00a0under the Advocates Act.
\nSome of his groundbreaking judgments include: the decision on the date of the next general elections in John\u00a0Harun Mwau v. The Attorney General; the case of New Vision Kenya (NVK Mageuzi) et al v. Independent Electoral\u00a0and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on diaspora voting; and the case of Okenyo Omwansa George v. The Attorney\u00a0General on lawyers having a right to advertise their services.<\/em><\/p>\n
